# Threadhood

> Threadhood turns a photo into a cross-stitch chart in the browser. Colors are matched to real DMC (489 colors) or Anchor (445 colors) six-strand cotton using the CIEDE2000 color difference. Charts have a symbol per thread, a bold grid line every 10 stitches, numbered edges, center marks and skein counts for the chosen fabric and strands. Photos are processed on the device and are not uploaded.

Free: unlimited chart making, thread matching, image download, 3 saved charts, share links.
Studio ($4.99/month or $29/year): unlimited saved charts, stitch-by-stitch progress marking, a thread stash with shopping lists, and a printable PDF kit.

Thread data: KXStitch DMC and Anchor floss tables (GPL-2.0-or-later), cross-checked against the sharlagelfand/dmc dataset. Skeins assume 8 m of six strands per skein, about 4.8 stitch widths of floss per strand per full cross, plus 50% for tails and travel.
